I have constant freezing, where I have to manually shut down. I dont have to be on the internet , it just doesn,t matter what I,m doing. I have uninstalled All store bought software, & free ware. Then installed, spywareblaster. AVG free 7.5, superantispyware 3.3, And of coarse Ccleaner, & High jack this. Everything is completely updated. the system is clean. & pcpitstop says I have no hardware problem. Can You please look & see if I,m missing something. I,ve only had this problem since I installed a registered version of windows home xp sp2 The only thing that shows on the error logs is AVG related at exactly the time of the crashes. Plus when I run Ccleaner it allways shows . WGA error log & WGA notify. it seems to delete them but 30 minutes later there there again. thanks for Your time. I appologise in advance cuz I have several posts all over the board about this & related problems. But I,m lost. Cowboy. Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1

Well the logs look good.(since you don't have anything installed. :P )

Alright try downloading this:
http://fileforum.bet...ht/1131569373/1

Open it up and press the green arrows and then press go. Once thats done open it up again and press tools> scroll down to SFC scan and press go and let it run.

Let me know if you see any improvements after both things are run.

Not sure what could keep it from registering those. Just to clarify it hung up when registering programming cores/runtimes right?

The author of dialafix used to hang around here everyonce in a while so I sent him a message and he might be able to help.

Sorry rridgely I just noticed I misspelled Your name. Anyway What it was it got down to the very last 2 entries In the last section, ( # 5 I think ) BUT I kept clicking & clicking , & finnally got thru it, ( not sure How ). I got to tools & it told Me to put My windows cd in. Which I did. got all the way thru that . Of coarse nothing registered as a problem . I removed My cd, & the puter was froze again. I still have dial a fix on My desktop. just in case. & ( Dj lizard for that ) But I guess it didn,t fix anything. Should I just quit and start over with a fresh install. I,d be glad To blank the harddrive to scratch if I knew how to, & the only cd I have from the puter builder is to install the drivers. & My windows cd. Anyway. I appreacite Your help. Any more thoughts , I,m really stumped. Thanks Cowboy

I got a response from dj and he said it would be easier to just reformat the hard drive. I know you said you were willing to but didn't know how so I dugg you up some guides. :)

General guide. Lots of info about backing up data, and everything else.

Bummer. rridgely, Since I just downloaded about 10 hours of new stuff, including IE 7, Which seems to be pretty kewl. I might see what happens, if the freezing continues I,ll either reformat, Or use it for target practice. Thanks for the instructions & all of your help. Cowboy
