I have installed Software, etc.

Firefox produced some error when I was using the auto-update feature to go from 2.0.0.3 to 2.0.0.4. I suppose 2.0.0.4 is installed alright, however 2.0.0.3 was showing up in Add or Remove Programs, I just renamed the entry with CCleaner and never gave it much more thought.

Well you need the Genuine Advantage Validation Tool if you want to download stuff on a legit install of Windows from Microsoft. I don't mind validating my copy of Windows. The Notification Tool is what really annoys me. Once I validate my copy I shouldn't have to install that Notification to. That is for people that don't have a legit copy of Windows and is designed to annoy the crap out of them with constant reminders. Whats that have to do with me. To make it worse they try to install the Notification Tool as a critical update.

Somehow, cracked softwares are shareware made free

So cracked software doesn't ask for a product key for example? What's the difference between cracked software and me giving a copy of a windows cd, but not the product key to someone so that they have to use their own product key.

In some or most cracked softwares, a malware code is bundled.
I know most cracked softwares are clean, but the majority is dangerous. That's one reason to avoid warez.
Some people ignore that they're illegal, therefore they will just install it. What makes them stay away is what harmful code is bundled deep in the software.
Also I placed "some" and "most" because some are clean and some are not. Inaccurate?

cracked software dont always have malware but it is a very big threat. btw whoever needed that media center conversion disc, don't worry the 2 files u need to download are legal. u used to be able to order them for free from ms, for shipping and handling until they ended it.
Cracked software is shareware that has it's copy protection circumvented to allow users that never paid for it to access it as if they had. circumventing copy protection can have the end result of a keygen or a serial number, or a patcher or just pre-cracked. the holy grail location for piraters to store their servers is Sealand cause it's only file storage laws are for preventing child porn.

Actually most of the stuff that's showing up in CCleaner's list is to my HP Printer and all of it's sub-components software and some random crap from MS Office 2003 and not much more than that. I have almost nothing installed in the traditonal sense of seeing it listed in Add or Remove Programs because most of the apps I use are CLI ("command line interpreter") programs.

I won't let it install, and they can indeed shove it up their collective asses. Although in order to get current downloads another similarly named install must be installed which is Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool.
