just did a system restore, and that seems to have sped up my computer.

Your computer has a nasty trojan on it. I don't know if system restore got rid of it or not but go ahead and follow the below instructions:

Please download VundoFix.exe
to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt into your next reply
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above
instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when
VundoFix appears at reboot.

Post a new hijackthis log with the vundofix report.

The restore got rid of the Poolsv and the Svhost, I guess the Trojan was from an earlier time. Thanks so much for your help.

This computer is still infected(pretty badly), but it can be cleaned. Just follow my instructions and by the end of it your computer will be good as new.

Open hijackthis and run a system scan. Then check off the following entries:

Once the desktop loads please post the text that will open (report.txt) back into this thread.

Download and Install SuperAntispyware from here:

Once you have SuperAntispyware installed open it up and click “check for updates”
Once its finished updating press the “scan your computer” button. Look to the right and make sure “complete system scan” is selected. Press next and let the scan run.
Superantispyware will now scan your computer and when its finished it will list all the infections it has found. Make sure that all of the infections it lists have a check next to them and press next.
Close and reopen Superantispyware.Click Preferences and then click the statistics/logs tab. Click the dated log and press view log and a text file will appear. Save the log to your desktop.

Post the superantispyware log with a new hijackthis log.

Run Kaspersky WebScanner
  • Please go HERE and click Kaspersky Online Scanner
  • Read and Accept the Agreement
  • You will be promted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
  • If you see a Windows dialog asking if you want to install this software, click the Install button.
  • The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files,
  • When the "Update progress" line changes to "Ready" and the "NEXT ->" button becomes available, please click on it.
  • Click on the Scan Settings button, and in the next window select the Extended database, and click Ok.
  • Under "Please select a target to scan:", click My Computer to start the scan.
  • When the scan is finished, click the "Save as Text" button, and save the file as kavscan.txt to your Desktop, close the Kaspersky On-line Scanner window.

Yeah it takes a long time but its worth it because its thorough.

Delete the following file:
C:\VundoFix Backups

Then download CCleaner here if you don't have it:
http://filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/

Install it and then open it up and press "run cleaner".

Your restore points are infected.
To Flush the infected restore points:

Click Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > SystemRestore

Choose Create a Restore Point then click Next. Name it and click Create, when the confirmation screen shows the restore point has been created click Close.

Next goto Start Menu > Run > type

cleanmgr

Click OK, Disk Cleanup will open and start calculating the amount of space that can be freed, Once thats finished it will open the Disk Cleanup options screen, click the More Options tab then click Clean up on the system restore area and choose Yes at the confirmation window which will remove all the restore points except the one we just created.

Post a new hijackthis log and let me know if your computer seems back to normal.

I think I did everything right. The computer seems to be running well now. This is the first time since I've gotten the computer that I've been able to use the cleanmgr. Thanks alot for all the help. Hopefully I won't get it infected again.
