Hi; I'm an average computer with average computer knowledge. My computer is so messed up that it takes the patience of Moses to use it. I received a new modem from my Internet provider on July 1 and ever since then I've been plagued by ads, pop-ups, an ad for "WinAntivirus2007" that interupts everything and locks up my comoputer, my computer locks up repeatedly at other times and I have to turn it off and back on to do anything. I get messages that say "IE cannot display the web page", but when I close that window the page requested is there. I have 2 firewalls, 2 virus programs, 3 spyware programs; I run these consistently and until July 1 I've not had problems. My Avast program is constantly alerting me that I picked up a Trojan, and each alert has a different address. Please help me fix my computer.

Welcome to the forum.
You have AVG and Avast installed. Get rid of one of them.

Please download VundoFix.exe
to your desktop.

• Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
• Click the Scan for Vundo button.
• Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
• You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
• Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
• When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
• Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt into your next reply

Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above
instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when
VundoFix appears at reboot.

Post a vundofix log and a new hijackthis log.

There was only ZA in the log which is why I didn't say anything about having 2 firewalls.(ZA disables the windows firewall so don't worry about it)

Download Superantispyware

1. Load Superantispyware and click the check for updates button.
2. Once the update is finished click the scan your computer button.
3. Check Perform Complete Scan and then next.
4. Superantispyware will now scan your computer and when its finished it will list all the infections it has found.
5. Make sure that they all have a check next to them and press next.
6. Click finish and you will be taken back to the main interface.
7. Click Preferences and then click the statistics/logs tab. Click the dated log and press view log and a text file will appear.
8. Copy and paste the log onto the forum.

The last hijackthis log you posted looks pretty good. There are just a few other quick things you should do to tidy things up a bit.

Open hijackthis and run a system scan. Then check off the following entries:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {86413120-7B3B-4A90-A0DE-A9B4CDCB533C} - (no file)
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - (no file)
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {0BF43445-2F28-4351-9252-17FE6E806AA0} - (no file)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: jkkjk - C:\WINDOWS\system32\jkkjk.dll (file missing)

Now press "fix checked" and exit hijackthis.

Then you just need to clean up your restore points and make a new clean one.

To Flush the infected restore points:

Click Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > SystemRestore

Choose Create a Restore Point then click Next. Name it and click Create, when the confirmation screen shows the restore point has been created click Close.

Next goto Start Menu > Run > type

cleanmgr

Click OK, Disk Cleanup will open and start calculating the amount of space that can be freed, Once thats finished it will open the Disk Cleanup options screen, click the More Options tab then click Clean up on the system restore area and choose Yes at the confirmation window which will remove all the restore points except the one we just created.
