Back in 1971, when Decimal currency was introduced in the UK, one of the clerks at my place of work used to work out the guys wages on a mechanical adding machine.
And if you don't know, before decimalisation, there were 12 shillings to a pound, and 240 pennies to a pound.
The day the new currency came into effect, that amazing little box of tricks was obsolete.
And here it is sitting on my desk 26 years later, still in perfect working order.
