Hello all. Have a problem with a buddies computer. After a new xp install his sound card is not being recognized. For instance, in sounds and devices in control panel, when he goes to the sound, nothing shows there. cant adjust volume, etc. but he does have a sound card. and it was working before.
any suggestions?

Get new sound card drivers as not all are on cd-rom & if you fit sp2 may kill off so up date to fix. 
Does it show in DEVICE MANAGER.If not something has come loose.
Once it shows and/or is sensed by Found New Hardware logic.
Trip to manufacturer website will help alot.
Microsoft Update using Custom option.
