I have Adobe Flash, Shockwave & Avast AV installed but none of these have boxes on the Applications menu. Please advise.

For Adobe Flash Player, CCleaner looks for the registry key: HKCR\CLSID\{D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000}
Check to see if you have that key.

AFAIK, for Shockwave & Avast AV, you need winapp2.ini entries. If you have them, check the detect keys. If you don't have them, you can get them here
