Full Version: Two browsers on "Check for Updates..."

Greetings all,

{XP SP3; CCleaner 2.08.588}

I decided to put this in Bugs section, but I could be wrong and it is not CCleaner issue.
My apology in advance if so.

Starting from previous version CCleaner evoking both browsers IE7 and Firefox when "Check for Updates...".
Firefox is my default browser for a long time.
I use CCleaner for a long time too and I was under impression that it always
was firing up IE despite it is not the default.
Well, I thought that it it is not very good to have specific browser hardcoded,
but it's kinda not deadly and I lived with that without making noise.

2 browsers immediately showing me the same page would be too much...
It confuses me ohmy.gif ... especially when the information on two pages displayed is identical smile.gif
joking, but any ideas?

Cheers

addendum:
If Firefox is opened during "check...", CCeaner will not fired-up IE;
If only IE already opened, Firefox will be fired-up too and IE current page will be refreshed with CCleaner info as well

Hello SiberLynx,
Maybe this thread will help.Read the whole thread."smilingralph" says his link works for him. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?s=&...ost&p=97432
Seems to be a Firefox thing not a CCleaner problem.
Good luck,

Hi davey,

Thank you very much. The solution was exactly where you pointed and "smilingralph"'s link shows precisely what needs to be done.

I suspected that as much too

Thanks for reporting back and verifying "smilingralph's" link.

Sometimes it's a coin toss between Discussion,Bug Reporting,and Software forum.No apologies necessary.
At least here, other CCleaner users will see it for sure.
