I have just replaced my old PDF AdobeReader with Foxfit and I am wondering if I can now uninstall the following AdobeReader 8, Adobe SVG Viewer, Adobe shockwave player, adobe flashplayer plugin, adobe flashplayer Active x,
I am not sure what can be uninstalled and what has to be left. I have made Foxfit my default PDF reader and it seems to be working fine.

You can uninstall AdobeReader 8, and maybe SVG Viewer if you don't need it.

Shockwave and Flash elements you can leave alone. A lot of websites etc. need them to show media.
Adobe Reader you can toss. It's a memory hog. Foxit is better.

You seem confused on what those programs are. They are all from Adobe but they are all different programs. You installed Foxit PDF reader. It's Adobe equivalent is Adobe Reader 8. You can get rid of that or you can keep it either way Foxit does what it does. The other Adobe programs are for other things their functionality won't be replaced by Foxit.

Many thanks for your help. I understand the situation better now. I will uninstall Adobe Reader and leave the other Adobe programs alone.
