Microsoft has a web-based ClearType Web Tuner, much the same as the installable ClearType Tuner Powertoy. It allows for fonts/text to look its best with LCD monitors.

Requires using Internet Explorer:

Requires using IE. Is that for installing & tweaking, or do you have to use IE in order for it to work? (ie. no Opera or FF allowed)

It actually installs Microsoft ClearType Tuner if using IE on that page. Doesn't work at all in Opera nor Firefox.

So it's strictly only if you're going to use IE. It has no effect on FF or Opera.

ClearType works with Opera and Firefox, but you can't use the online link to tune it, unless you use Internet Explorer.

I think that's what your unhappy smiley means. Any tuning you do, will still be there when you reopen Opera or Firefox.

Oh! So you tweak it using IE, and afterwards the settings stay active in all 3 browsers. (It affects all browsers.)
