I am trying to install the cleaner on my daughters computer. She usually has know prob. installing things. I downloaded and saved it to desktop. It just won't install. It start up with the normal stuff....then shows it's going to c/programs/CCleaner and that's it, no further. Tried several times. She has XP.

Don't rename the installer to 'CCleaner.exe'.

I'll try that. Thanks. I renamed it CCleaner on the desk top. What was it to start with so I don't have to reinstall again as she has dial up and takes forever.

It doesn't matter, as long as you don't call it 'CCleaner'.
It was probably called 'ccsetup120.exe'

Tons of people have this problem, and they never mention that they're changing the name of the downloaded file!
