Another good little app from CPUID is HWMonitor.

Doesn't do as much as SpeedFan, but still shows quite a bit of information and doesn't require installation.

I never have figured out how to get SpeedFan to alter my fan's speeds. Does it do that?

You're welcome.

The fan's speed is controlled by selecting Automatic fan speed then click Minimize to keep it running

OK. Here goes. If the computer flies across the room I guess that is set too fast? tongue.gif

edit: By golly it worked! Fan speed kicked up dramatically when some heavy apps started running. Temperatures for the CPU cores dropped about 10 deg. C.
