A new user here. I ran Registry Integrity for the first time. It cam up with about 2,400 issues. Is it safe to fix these selected issues. I have no idea what most of them are.

Welcome to the forums.
You will find that my self assigned role is to protect "new" users.
My first advice would be a definite "NO".
What is going on with your PC now?
Are you having problems or just wanting to "clean-up" your PC ?
What type of PC user are you ? Average type user or also specialized uses ?
If you are new to PCs and internals I definitely recommend leaving the Registry alone until you learn more.
No rush necessary since your PC is running. Correct?
You need to learn to backup things before you do such a step. Other safe practices need to be learned also.

Really only remove things from the registry that you know no longer exist

Example

You uninstall RealPlayer

You run the registry integ and see some thing along the lines of
Missing Shared DLL C:\program files\RealPlayer\player.dll HKCU\Software\Realone\Realplayer

That would be ok to remove because you've uninstalled realplayer.

AS I said read and FOLLOW my signature and you'll be ok. (And listen to davey I've yet to see him steer someone wrong )

Thanks for the advise guys. While I am not new to computers, having used them for 25 years, I am not a "techie" and will proceed with caution.
My computer gets considerable use, is 4.5 years old and has gotten considerably slower.

Very similar situation with my PC prior to CCleaner.
Except those 3.5 years were with no maint programs whatever and lots of "Power Outages" user caused or natural events.
You might want to break it down into groups if the first "Go for Broke" reg. fix doesn't do your PC any favors.
Yes, I also had years of Computer experience but zip years in PC internals except a little Gates DOS and Gates Basic in 1976 on a TRS80.
