I am told by one of the fine moderators associated with this site that I need anti-malware help. I am not particularly cyber-knowledgable, but I can do normal things. I have trouble when instructions get overly long and complicated.
I cannot download the anti-malware program from the site download that was recommended. I cannot de-frag. If I click on a Google link, I get redirected. THat is all I've noticed so far. I installed ccleaner and ran it, but I have uninstalled it for the moment along with some other programs.
Can I download an anti malware program onto a CD on another computer and then run it on mine? WHat else might you recommend? Is there a direct download that my computer will allow me to access?
THanks. I do appreciate the information and advice I got on the CCleaner subforum, but it was not successful.

hi
Please download ComboFix from
Here or
Here to your Desktop.
**Note: In the event you already have Combofix, this is a new version that I need you to download. It is important that it is saved and renamed following this process directly to your desktop**- If you are using Firefox, make sure that your download settings are as follows:
- Tools->Options->Main tab
- Set to "Always ask me where to Save the files".
- During the download, rename Combofix to Combo-Fix as follows:

- It is important you rename Combofix during the download, but not after.
- Please do not rename Combofix to other names, but only to the one indicated.
- Close any open browsers.
- Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
-----------------------------------------------------------
- Close any open browsers.
- WARNING: Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet as soon as it starts
- Please do not attempt to re-connect your machine back to the Internet until Combofix has completely finished.
- If there is no internet connection after running Combofix, then restart your computer to restore back your connection.
-----------------------------------------------------------
- Double click on combo-Fix.exe & follow the prompts.
- When finished, it will produce a report for you.
- Please post the "C:\Combo-Fix.txt" for further review.
**Note: Do not mouseclick combo-fix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall**
