Okay so I just installed Avira AntiVir Personal(Free) Edition. But I have never used Avira before, so I was thinking you guys might know the best settings. So if you know the best settings for Avira, please help me and thanks alot!

Well it depends on the user, so there isn't really a "best" set of settings.

Btw, if you want to disable the nag screen that comes up when you update, have a read here: http://www.elitekiller.com/files/disable_antivir_nag.htm

The only thing I've ever changed is to have it scan All Files during an On Demand scan versus using those Smart Extensions.

1. Right click the icon > start antivir > choose configuration
2. check expert mode
3. go to Scanner > scan > check all files. In additional, check search for rootkit before scan.let scan heuristic mode by default
4. go to Guard > scan > check scan when reading and writing & all files.guard scan heuristic by default.
5. go to General > extended threat categories > select all.

done.
