I saw a screenshot of SafeXP from the "Windows Media Player" thread.
Has anyone used this software?
It seems really great...

I dont use Windows Media Player anyways, it is slow and sluggish and ugly.
WMP 6.4 was the best version, after that it just became crap.

WMP becoming crap is your opinion. Newer versions have so much more functionality over 6.x since people can rip audio (insecurely, and hopefully not .wma) and have a good database of what they've ripped readily available.

Yes, I have to agree with that it gained alot of features.
But I thought that Windows Media Player was supposed to be a player, not a handle-everything-even-slightly-related-to-media.
I think 6.4 is very fast and responsive and easy to use. While newer versions have an ugly, bloated slow-responsive confusing interface.
