just downloaded error doctor but when I try to open the shortcut, I get this error....errordoctor.exe will now close.

can anyone help?

Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall, or open directly from the folder.
Make sure that it's not already running before you try to open it.
I've never used or heard of this software but these are the things I'd try first.

Think you are right. It's a pretty good bet it runs at startup. This could be a movie: Error Doctor meets Dr. Watson.

Another thing you may want to consider is restarting your computer. Many programs require a restart after installing, due to running processes that need to be updated.

But most programs that require a restart prompt you to do so, so unless you deliberately chose not to restart, that probably isn't the case.
