I just heard about this plug-in about a day ago. Am I out of the loop? biggrin.gif

Window Genuine Advantage Plug-in for Firefox.
MS WGA Plug-in FF.

yeah its been around a few months now. I didnt bother getting it yet because to be honest I dont download anything from MS without IE. I usually get my DL's and win updates at the same time. biggrin.gif

So I can get rid of the IE tab?

I downloaded without it, and updates are auto...happy days for K! biggrin.gif

It's really awesome cause you don't have to open IE to download say, Windows Defender.

It's been out since November 17, 2005.

no because its not active x. That is what sites like winupdate use.
All this really lets you do is download stuff from the MS site that requires the genuine advantage tool.

But I'll still get updates through auto updates, right?

Yep, but I know that there are still sites that are not FF friendly usually because of active x. That is when IE tab comes in handy. Things like Yahoo's launch music site(videos)(but this isnt active x based so I'm not sure why FF dosent work) and trendmicros virus scan still need IE to work and with IE tab you can just have IE open in firefox without actually changing browsers. Its deffinetely a convenience.
