Everytime i visit a site or a forum, they ask me if i would like to save my password but when i do choose that option, i come back on in like lets say 4 hrs, i have to login again. Also this goes for google. Before i was able to jsut type in google.ca and it would bring me to the Canada version, but now when i type that in, i have to manually select English. Does anyone know what's wrong? Thanks. Here's my log:

Hi LoganX

You have Trojan Torpig showing in the log. The Trojan attempts to steal passwords, as well as logging keypresses and sends the collected information to a remote user via HTTP. The Trojan can also download and execute additional files from a remote site. Because this Trojan has backdoor functionality, there is no telling what has been done to the PC since it was infected. If you have done any Banking online or payed for goods using Credit card information then you should consider contacting your bank and explain what has happened, you will also have to change passwords for any sites you use and email, messenger programs etc... if you change passwords for sites, please do it from a different pc or wait untill we have removed the problems. there is also signs of the SDBot worm and Trojan Wareout in your log.

There is many free Antivirus programs you can install but CA EZ Antivirus is a great offer as its a 1 year free trial for all Microsoft users, can you install that first:

http://www.my-etrust.com/microsoft/Default.aspx

Install and update but do not run a scan yet as we will do that in safe mode.

Update the definitions in Ewido before proceeding:

Open Ewido
On the left hand side of the main screen click update. Then click on Start Update.
The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
(when its finished the status bar at the bottom will display (Update successful), then close Ewido.

This next part should be done in safe mode to prevent the infection being able to contact out, please copy this to notepad and save it to your desktop so you have a copy as you will not be able to access the internet in safe mode.

Reboot into safe mode (Reboot and keep tapping the F8 key untill you see the Windows Advanced Menu then choose safe mode from the list and press enter)

In Safe mode run CA EZ Antivirus on a full system scan and remove anything found.

Next Run Ewido,
  • Click on Scanner then click Complete System Scan ,
  • If ewido finds something, it will pop up a notification. Select Remove and check the boxes Perform action with all infections and Create encrypted backup then click on OK.
  • When the scan finishes, click on Save Report and save it to your desktop or c:/drive and post back the results.
Run Hijack This and choose Do A system scan only then place checks next to these entries:

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=explorer.exe "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Folders\ibm00001.exe"
O1 - Hosts: localhost 127.0.0.1
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7A533235-A128-434B-9F8A-9300A544D191} - (no file)
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Shell] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Folders\ibm00001.exe"
O16 - DPF: ActiveGS.cab - http:// www.virtualapple.com/activegs.cab
O23 - Service: Power Manager (PowerManager) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe (file missing)

close all open Windows except Hijack This and press the Fix Checked button.

Delete this file

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Folders\ibm00001.exe
<--Delete any file in this folder with ibm in the name.

Reboot back to Normal mode by restarting the pc.

Next Run Panda Activescan from Here.
  • Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
  • A new window will open...click the Check Now button
  • Enter your Country
  • Enter your State/Province
  • Enter your e-mail address and click send
  • Select either Home User or Company
  • Click the big Scan Now button
  • If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
  • It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan
(Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
  • When the download is complete, click on Local Disks to start the scan
  • When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location so you can post it back.
Please post the Ewido log, the pandascan log and a new Hijack This log back

Thanks

Andy
