if i right click on something, i can send it to the desktop as a shortcut.
can i do this with quick launch with a shortcut, not the actual file?¿?¿

send to is located: C:\Documents and Settings\"USER NAME"\SendTo
quick launch is located: C:\Documents and Settings\"USER NAME"\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

if i add a shortcut folder of quick launch and put it in the sentto folder, it actually puts the file in quick launch and i dont want that.

This might help--

If you actually drag any item (file or folder) to your Quick Launch bar it will automatically create a shortcut there.

Easy as pie! wink.gif

id like to just be able to right click and send it there though
TonyKlein
Not sure how you might accomplish that. You can however do it in two steps :

Rightclick the item, and choose 'create shortcut'.
Rightclick your newly created shortcut, and send it to QuickLaunch.

Dragging it there is faster though...

I decided to Google a bit, and I found you a small application: "Send To Toys":

You can do that without that application.

This won't. It's just a shell extension, and it will not slow you down.

Not sure what you mean. Rightclick ANYthing, and choose Send To > Desktop (as a shortcut), and exactly that will happen:

You'll end up with a shortcut to the file or folder on your desktop, not the file or folder itself.

thats what i want but with quicklaunch instead.
is there any way to change the desktop one to quick launch?

As I said, not that I'm aware off. It may well be possible to write a vbs script to accomplish just that, but that's not something I'm comfortable with.

Maybe someone else?
