Hi, When I Right-Click and go to Properties/Startmenu Tab/Start Menu Customize/ I still see Opera and Firefox still listed. I find it hard searching through the Reg. and finding the path to where they are held. Ccleaner nor... Advanced WindowsCare Beta2 seems to remove them. Please help.

Thx!

ive heard that there are sometimes some folders that are still there.
did you uninstall and want to get rid of those? or did you just want to take them out?
if you just want to get them out of the list, click start then right click the item you'd like to remove and click "remove from this list".

I've deleted the folders. I know somewhere in the Reg. by going to Run../ type in Regedit there... is a place in there to delete the E-Mail and Internet left overs. FireFox and Opera are still there.

lol, why can't they make a program to just ask when uninstalling a program it should first ask if you wanna get rid of whatever is left over in the reg. and in C:\Program Files

Edit: I'm not talking about the list to view recent programs used. I'm talking about where you set your ER-Mail and Internet Browser.

You could try the reg search function in Regseeker for any entries relating to uninstalled apps which will find and show all entries instead of one at at a time.

Maybe even try the "Clean the Registry" function to see what it comes up with but don't just select all and delete as it is quite aggressive and can cause probs.

one place that some may be left in would be C:\documents and settings\"USER NAME"\application data
this is a hidden folder so you would need to have hidden files and folders enabled.

Thx for that. I'll see what I can find.

Ok, I'm having trouble. I can't seem to find them. I deleted the files in C:\documents and settings\"USER NAME"\application data but no luck. Hmm... wonder what settings would be easy for me to search for it under RegSeeker. I tried just typing Opera in but it came up with files and entries that were not related to the Broswer of Opera.

cant you simply right click and delete it?
also, have you tried restarting? dont know if that would make a difference though.

EDIT:WOW, i overlooked something, C:\documents and settings\"USER NAME"\start menu.
they can most likely all be found there!

Nope, there not located there. Trust me. I deleted them in the Reg. in the past but as far as I can remember its fully deep within the Reg. I'm restarting now...
TheFiresInTheSky
are you talking about when you click start, they show up?
or are you talking about under the customize tab in the start menu properties?
New_Age
Yes, Under Properties and what not...

Any updates on how to fix this...

As I understand it you are saying>start>control panel>taskbar and start icon>start menu>customize>general tab>show on start menu, on the drop down options you still have Opera and Firefox as choices.

There may be some info here about this, a bit deep for me though.
