Hi, my friend who currently does business at home helping others out around in our area on computers. Sypyware removal, Virus Removal...Bah... you know the rest. But anyways I had him look at mine for fun and he said he found something which I thought was funny. He found I was running 48 Processes. I know thats a shame and it should be looked at. I use up too 500MB almost and I play Music on Itunes of course. but yeah. Have a look and see what's up

Hi New Age
There's no problems showing in your log, I dont think your friend should be saying you have a problem just based on your running processes as that is different for each system, at the moment I have 46 running processes but they are just running in memory and your task manager (right click the system tray and choose Task Manager > Processes) should show the CPU Usage is close to 0% when the system is idle.
You can have this HijackThis fix this line
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
but the rest is ok, run Ewido on a full scan to make sure there is no malware issues but if that only detects cookies then it looks fine

Hi New Age,
Over 20 of your running processes are for essential Microsoft files or your malware protection programs, then there's some for your graphics card, mouse and wireless drivers, you could goto start > run > type MSConfig and then goto the startup tab to remove items you didnt want starting with Windows but I tend to leave things alone unless they are malware as what is useless for one person maybe valued by the next so Its really up to you (or your friends) how you want to handle that,
you could disable items starting with Windows (04 area in HJT) using MSConfig but if you use everything thats running then you will just have to restart them all manually when the system reboots so you would still end up with the same running processes.
maybe another member can suggest items you really do not need but I try to avoid messing with peoples startup items if they are genuine, if you use MSConfig then at least you can re-enable them if you need to later but fixing them with HijackThis will fully remove them from the registry.
