Full Version: Use Personalized Menus Problem

After using CCleaner for the first time I lost my personalized menu option for the start menu.
I have it set to classic start menu.

I then wanted to turn it back on so I right clicked my start menu/properties/customize/advanced options and then made sure the "use personalized menus" was ticked... But this has not restored my menu to the way it was previously.

I think I'm one of the few people who liked the fact that only the programs I use most showed up in my start menu.

Any ideas anyone? unsure.gif

If you keep on using Windows for a while, it will eventually restore to how it was (until next time you run CCleaner).

Maybe you had "Menu order cache" in "Advanced" checked in CCleaner?

Yes I did have that check.

Thanks for the reply. biggrin.gif I've given it a couple of days but will wait a bit longer to see then if it returns to normal.

I have the same problem. I just started using CC yesterday. I ran it on two machines (my desktop and my laptop). The Start Menu MRU list survived on the laptop, kakked it on the desktop. When I restore the saved registry (we are smart!), the MRU reappears. I'll try the "Menu order chache" fix that Eldmannen suggested, but I think it's a conflict with the registry fixer thingy.
Also, I'm going to try unchecking the MRU option in the Start menu preferences, applying it, then rechecking it. You never know... wink.gif

Hey, I just tried something and it worked. I went into Taskbar Properties, Start Menu tab, Start Menu: Customize, then clicked the Clear List button. Voila! My MRU list has returned, and the people rejoiced.
Hope this works for everyone else who has this problem.
Cheers.
