Microsoft Corp. will distribute up to $223.9 million to Wisconsin residents as part of the settlement of several class action lawsuits.

The lawsuits claimed that the software giant violated the state's antitrust and unfair competition laws by overcharging customers for some of its operating systems, word processing and spreadsheet software.

Microsoft denies that it did anything wrong, and a Wisconsin court did not rule on the merits of the lawsuit.

People who purchased Microsoft software sometime between Dec. 7, 1993, through April 30, 2003, for use in Wisconsin are eligible to make a claim.
