I have been having a problem where I try to run CCleaner. It fails to open but continues however to eat all the CPU usage without even starting. I try to end task and it doesn't work, then i try killing its process tree. Still stuck there eating cpu usage.. I don't want to have to stop using cc cleaner.

Has anybody got any suggestions?

try running it in safe mode once.
to get into safe mode, press F8 repeaditly well the PC is booting up.
