It seems the problem is fixed. However I noticed that there are 4 index.dat files that no longer show up in the list of files to be deleted -
Documents and Settings\%username%\Cookies\
Documents and Settings\%username%\UserData\
Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Recent\
Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Feeds Cache\
Should these be deleted, or are they handled differently now in relation to cookie handling?

I prefer
Index.dat Suite as it searches for
all index.dat files and list them in its main panel.
http://support.it-mate.co.uk/?mode=Product...=index.datsuiteIn the
Tools section of Index.dat Suite you can select to run
defrag upon reboot which is like booting up in
Safe Mode then running defrag.
