I just found this cool little program yesterday. Its a very light and responsive desktop publishing program.
I used to use Adobe Page Maker a bunch a few years ago for the school newspaper and this thing is 10 times faster/more responsive. I'm not going to lie and say it has all the features pagemaker has but for free and for the beginner is a very good place to start.

Its a lot simpler to use then page maker though. Its menus and options are easy to navigate and its easy to make some good looking layouts with it.

Currently the main page wouldn't work for me but it was working yesterday.

I'm thinking this program would be awesome for anyone who wants to make professional looking newsletters, flyers, ect. and can't get the look they want with Word/Openoffice. If your new to desktop publishing type programs this is a good place to start. biggrin.gif

No one else tried this one out?
The fact that it can save directly to .pdf makes it worth the download alone! biggrin.gif

Your missing out if you don't at least give this one a try. I'm currently using this to make .pdf instructions for AVG free and Comodo. biggrin.gif

That little tidbit of info is enough for me to try it out, since I've lately been wanting to save some stuff as .pdf instead of MS Word .doc.

This seems more trouble than it's worth (at least to me), since another app GhostScript has to be pre-installed. rolleyes.gif

I think thats only so print preview will work.(seems strange to me though)
I've been using the program for a few days now without the script and it ahs been working fine.(just that stupid error message at start up.)

to me, this is the only one open source project which is comparable to the adobe indesign. it's a good one, although it needs time to grow (like inkscape)

Well in my opinion it needs to come with the other add-ons that must be pre-installed such as GhostScript, and GSView, I really don't like hunting down something else just to make another app fully work especially on FTP servers with many files.

While, I have personally never used Scribus yet, I have heard a lot of good about it.
