The top ranking spyware is Gator. This adware offers free use of an application if users agree to view a series of pop-up messages downloaded by Gator. Some versions of this spyware replace banners on Web pages visited with those created by the malicious code itself.

Second and third place in the top ten are occupied by Wupd and Ncase respectively.....

lol I remember gator we once used it, its is a very usefull spyware application that remembers your passwords, lol and sends you pop-up ads and price comparisons when visiting shopping websites, all while spying on you.

@LordGrayStoker

CCleaner is not spyware and isn't even anti-spyware.

adaware is anti-spyware.

gator is spyware (use anti-spyware to get rid of spyware)

Gator...Gator...Hmm...doesn't seem to ring a bell. But it sounds something similar that I've had once.

Gator was a very nice password reminder I used in the 90's.

Then Claria bought them and it turned immediately into a profiler bar none.

They still shout to the hills that its NOT spyware, but it IS extremely dangerous to your privacy online.

For those of you who googled it: you probably picked up the belnk cookie.

GET RID OF IT!

It's nothing less that Gator running in the background, profiling your surfing habits, email addresses, etc.

I know this to be the truth from direct experience.
