Hello,

Well, let's clean this up the rest of the way and see if we can speed up that boot time too. smile.gif

Via Add/Remove Programs, look for and remove MyWebSearch and Fun Web/FunWebProducts

Please run HijackThis! and click "Scan." Place checks next to the following entries, if present:

R3 - URLSearchHook: Yahoo! Toolbar - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: MyWebSearch Search Assistant BHO - {00A6FAF1-072E-44cf-8957-5838F569A31D} - (no file)
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {07B18EA9-A523-4961-B6BB-170DE4475CCA} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DMAScheduler] "c:\Program Files\HP DigitalMedia Archive\DMAScheduler.exe" ***
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [HPBootOp] "C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP Boot Optimizer\HPBootOp.exe" /run ***
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [nwiz] nwiz.exe /install ***
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NvMediaCenter] RUNDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\NvMcTray.dll,NvTaskbarInit ***
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_09\bin\jusched.exe" ***
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [My Web Search Bar Search Scope Monitor] "C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\1.bin\m3SrchMn.exe" /m=0
O4 - Startup: desktop(2)(2).ini
O4 - Startup: desktop(2).ini
O4 - Startup: desktop(3).ini
O4 - Global Startup: Updates From HP.lnk = C:\Program Files\Updates from HP\9972322\Program\Updates from HP.exe ***
O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://edits.mywebsearch.com/toolbaredits/...04YYUS_ZZzer000
O15 - Trusted Zone: http://*.trymedia.com (HKLM)
O16 - DPF: {1D4DB7D2-6EC9-47A3-BD87-1E41684E07BB} -

Close all browsers and other windows except for HijackThis!, and click "Fix Checked".

Delete the folowing folder, if it exists :

C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1 <---this is truncated, it will read MyWebSearch

Reboot your computer.

NOTE: *** by the entries above means they are not malware, but are not necessary on startup. You can start them manually if you need them, and it will help to speed your boot time. smile.gif

Let me know how it's running now, and if your original problem has stayed away.

Thanks,
tea
