Wow, lots of forms to fill out, lots of money involved. And they are only good for 5 years. Ive got paperwork coming out of the ying yang just to take the family to mexico next winter.

Only 5 year, that sucks. In the Uk we can get them for 5 or 10 years.
Seems like someone at your end is on a money making scheme

After all is said and done with all the forms i need to purchase and fill out, its going to cost me about 600 dollars for the whole family. What a rip off.

Damn. In Finland we can get passport for 10 years with one simple application what has to be delivered personally. The passport will be delivered in a week and it costs 46€. If you are wiling to pay more you can get the passport in a day... Legally
