You should avoid having more than one Antivirus program installed as they use alot of system resources and if they conflict with each other they can cause crashes and make the system less secure, if AVG and Avast are both providing real time monitoring then you should consider uninstalling one of them or disabling the real time protection on one and just using the second as a on demand scanner which you can start and stop manually to prevent problems but apart from that it looks fine,

I used to post a few logs here, but thanks to the fantastic tips I've picked up from you guys on this site, I'm becoming more of a dab hand at sorting things out myself. That, if nothing else, is testament to the superb help and support that you guys all offer.

Just one question - all things being equal, which would you keep - AVG or Avast?

Its worth uninstalling one of them but its more of a personal choice which is best, keep whichever works best for you, I think they are both good AntiVirus programs so either would do the job fine, as they are both free programs you can always change them again in the future if you feel one was doing a better job than the other but having them both installed and providing real time protection can cause alot of problems on the system like slowdowns, crashes and can even make it more likely to get a infection if they are both conflicting with each other, you could always post in the software or lounge area if you wanted other people's views on which is best though before removing one
